OPERATION AND MAINTAINANCE OF FILTERS

COURSE OVERVIEW
The operation and maintenance of filters will give the water plant operator on-the-job training to interpret water quality guidelines. The operator will also be introduced to the operation of pressure filters and underdrain systems. Different types, sizes and the specific gravity of filter media will be explored. The operator will check filtering rates and troubleshoot filter problems,air blowers, and compressors. Slow sand and membrane filtration will also be discussed.
